Purple Mystery Snail

These colorful, active snails make a great addition to a tank clean-up crew. They are peaceful and will not harm live plants.

Approximate size at purchase: 0.5-1 inch, though 2-3 inches when full grown. 

Care and Feeding: 

These hungry snails will help consume any dead plant matter that accumulates in your tanks. Because they are so fast-growing, they also require additional direct feeding. They will eat commercial aquarium foods such as flakes, pellets, and algae wafers, and blanched vegetables. 

These snails breed by leaving the water and laying eggs on dry surfaces, so they may try to escape your tank! A tight-fitting lid, or one that leaves only narrow spaces for ventilation (<1") will keep them in.
